CHIEF FUN OFFICER

JENNY Q

Jenny Q. is a Afro-Latinx West-Indian cartoonist, activist, muralist, doula, dance teacher and Raqs Sharqi performer (under the name Jenny RaQs).

After working many years in politics, she recognized her love for the arts brought swifter and more positive change in creating the types of nuanced worlds many needed.

As she took a leap of faith and changed the trajectory of her life, Jenny developed her craft through comics, zines and a graphic novel from the universe of Quirklyn; a world where a quirky afrodescendiente Tica born in Brooklyn navigates the globe, while encountering enigmatic souls and limitless life lessons.

When she is not drawing, she can be found dancing, hiding in a pile of books next to her mini library, celebrating life somewhere throughout nature or researching and applying the many ways art can be integrated in combating social injustices around the world while concurrently creating platforms for deeper cultural appreciation.
